Walk over the horizon

Meter by meter, ever further and further, the treetop path in the Rügen Natural Heritage Center meanders impressively upwards. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Rügen landscape and the beautiful Baltic Sea from the unique structure.

Together with an experienced nature expert, you will explore the barrier-free and family-friendly path for around 3 hours: over a total length of 1,250 meters and a height of 4 to 17 meters, you can get steplessly closer to the treetops. A special highlight of the path is the 40 meter high observation tower, the so-called Eagle's Nest. This is unique not only because of its airy architectural shape, but also because of its construction around a huge copper beech tree. With a bit of luck, at a height of 82 meters, you will not only see new views of the mighty treetops of the mixed beech forest, but also some of the rare sea eagles.

Your trained forest guide will always provide you with useful knowledge and interesting background information about the natural heritage and give you special insights into the regional flora and fauna. Take your time for a walk and get to know the island of Rügen from a whole new side!
